Once your kid turns 6-months old, you must gradually wean your baby away from an all-milk diet. While you should still keep him away from a number of foods like honey and nuts, it is important to start some solids for the baby’s proper growth and development. Here are some DIY ideas that you must try for your little one:
2. Jowar and banana sheera
Roast 2 tbsp of jowar flour in ghee till it turns light brown. Now add 2 tbsp of rice powder to this and stir lightly. Add a mashed banana to the mixture and mix well. Add some milk to make it creamier.
3. Lentil soup
Roast moong daal and powder it. Pressure cook it with a little water. Your soup is ready. Ideally doctors suggest that sugar and salt should be added in a baby’s diet only after he/she turns one.
4. Pear puree
Add 3-4 pear chunks in a pot with water and steam it for for 8-10 minutes. Place the steamed pears in the blender and puree until smooth.
5. Rice cereal
Boil one cup of water in a saucepan. Add 1/4 cup of rice powder while stirring constantly. Simmer for 10 minutes. Serve warm to your baby.
